Boron trifluoride is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula BF3. It is a colorless, toxic and corrosive gas at room temperature and pressure, and it smokes in moist air. Boron trichloride is extremely reactive. It will decompose explosively when heated or in contact with moist air. It will decompose to form toxic and corrosive smoke (hydrogen fluoride). When decomposed, it will generate highly toxic fluoride smoke and react violently with metals and organics , It can corrode glass when cold. It is mainly used as a catalyst for organic reactions, such as esterification, alkylation, polymerization, isomerization, sulfonation, nitration, etc.; as an antioxidant when casting magnesium and alloys; for preparing boron halide, elemental boron, borane, borohydride The main raw material of sodium, etc.; also in many organic reactions and petroleum products, as a catalyst for condensation reactions; BF3 and its compounds are used as curing agents in epoxy resins; it can be used as raw materials for preparing optical fiber preforms; it is mainly used in the electronics industry Used as P-type dopant, ion particle input source and plasma energy engraving gas; anti-oxidant when casting magnesium and alloy. The bottled gas product is a high-pressure filling gas, and it should be used after decompression and decompression. The packaged gas cylinders have a service life limit, and all expired gas cylinders must be sent to a department for safety inspection before they can be used. Bottled gas products should be sorted and stacked during transportation, storage and use. Combustible gas and combustion-supporting gas should not be stacked together, and should not be near open flames and heat sources, and should be kept away from fire, oil wax, exposure to the sun, or re-throwing. , Do not hit, do not strike or arc on the gas cylinder, and do not load or unload savagely.

Application:

1.Chemical Use:

BF3 could be used as organic reaction catalyst,such as esterification, alkylate, polymerization, isomerization, sulfonate, nitration. Material for making boron halide, element boron,borane, sodium borohydride.

2.Electron Use:

Ion implatation and adulteration in semiconductor device integrated circuit manufacturing.
