Sinopec obtains clean hydrogen certification to promote high-quality development of my country’s hydrogen energy industry

On February 7, “China Science News” learned from the Sinopec Information Office that on the eve of the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Yanshan Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Sinopec, passed the world’s first “green hydrogen” standard “Low-Carbon Hydrogen, Clean Hydrogen and Renewable Hydrogen Standards”. and Evaluation” certification, becoming the first domestic company to obtain the clean hydrogen certification, and contributing to the “Green Winter Olympics”.
In order to promote the high-quality development of my country’s hydrogen energy industry and implement the “dual carbon” goal, on December 29, 2020, the “Low-Carbon Hydrogen, Clean Hydrogen and Renewable Hydrogen Standards and Evaluation” proposed by the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance was officially released and implemented. . The standard uses the full life cycle evaluation method to establish a quantitative standard and evaluation system for low-carbon hydrogen, clean hydrogen, and renewable hydrogen, and it is the first time in the world to quantify the carbon emissions of hydrogen through a standard form. At present, the standard has been included in the vehicle hydrogen refueling reward standard covered by the fuel cell vehicle demonstration application city group by five ministries including the Ministry of Finance, aiming to promote the green development of the entire hydrogen energy industry chain from the source.
